This weekend I’ll be gearing up for a trip to the East Coast with Now Hear Ensemble, where we will be working in residence at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute towards our next big project and album. For our newest project, “Mirrors”, we’ll be investigating the notions of symmetry and reflection in music by exploring works ranging from the Medieval Times to the present day. The result will be a concert in which the pieces merge together without silence, creating an overarching structure of symmetry in the program itself, as well as in the individual works being presented. We’re planning to record these works as well to release as part of our second album.
We’re super excited to have composer Dan VanHassel join us as well to work in collaboration on a new work for the group. Stay tuned for more updates on the “Mirrors” project, including dates and locations where we’ll be presenting the works in concert!
